A social media platform for building communities around influencers and brands.
I joined Berlin based startup Member at the start of 2023. It is a social media platform with an emphasis on creating communities for influencers and other brands.
I worked on the React Native app, and the backend using Node.js and GraphQL.
It was my first professional experience with both TypeScript and GraphQL, and I really enjoyed adding those to my toolbelt.
What I did
- Refactored an old UI library out of the codebase and integrated a new Tamagui based one.
- Improved backend robustness by finding and fixing dangling references across the codebase.
- Integrated react-query to cut network requests and improve performance.
